Introduction to Rowan Eating Habits

Several weeks ago, we began looking into how college students viewed their nutritional help.  We created surveys, and gave them to college students to take; we conducted interviews with a few students, and we all looked at our own eating habits, and nutritional health.  Then...we realized something.  All of our surveys, our interviews, our own thoughts on nutritional; all of these things were inexplicably tied to Rowan University!  Everyone that we talked to about our research was a Rowan student or professor.  So, what does that mean you ask?  It means that we decided to focus our research solely on Rowan University Students' nutritional health.

Now you may, or may not who knows, be wondering what we uncovered with all of our surveying and interviewing, and observing.  Well, thats very easy to respond to.  Allow me to break it down for you.
1.  Most Rowan Students think that their nutritional health is not the best
2.  Most Rowan students think their nutritional health is better than most of the other students.
(Even the students who rated their own nutritional health very low, still thought they ate better than most other students)
3.  Commuter students seem to have better nutritional habits than Students who live on campus.
(The reason for this seemed to be...MOM'S COOKING!  Home cooked meals are normally much healthier than fast food, cafeteria food, or frozen store bought ready meals; which is what most on campus students subsist on)
4.  Rowan students do not feel that there are nutritional options on campus.
(All students surveyed bemoaned the fact that the salad bar is the ONLY nutritionally healthy place to eat on campus)
5.  Rowan students do not think that Rowan does all it could to help students with their nutritional health.

Simple isn't it.  Now of course from here the obvious question is:  So what?  I mean really you tell most Rowan students the results of all this research they'll probably shrug and in no way shape or form will they be surprised.  So whats the point?  The point is, once again, simple.  You cannot take action on anything without having the information.  Saying you know something and being able to prove that you know something are two entirely different things.

Now the entire point of this is to educate our fellow college students as to what their fellow students actually think.  We also wish to provide you with other fruits of our labor.  We want you to take this information and use it.  We are going to be showing you possibilities that you could take and try to convince Rowan to institute.  We are going to show you the surveys and interviews that we took from your fellow students.  We are going to show you what other colleges are doing to help their students with their own nutritional health.  And finally we are going to see what YOU do.  Once the information is in your hands you cannot forget it.  So...what will you do with this information?
